Good News Church

About

Good News Presbyterian Church began in February 2024.  After thirty years of pastoral ministry in the Korean church in America, Pastor Brendon planted this church to meet the growing diversity in metro Atlanta.

Being a second-generation Asian-American immigrant (and now having third-generation immigrant children), Pastor Brendon has struggled with what it is to be the church in North America.

The result is Good News Presbyterian Church.  We are a church that seeks to continue the work of Jesus by teaching and living the good news of the love of God in Jesus Christ.  Our message and mission is not driven by race, culture, society, or politics but by the word of God.

Brendon Lee

Founding Pastor

Pastor Brendon has been married for twenty years and has four children.

He received his Bachelor of Science from Western Washington University and his Master of Divinity from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

He is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America.  His family lives in Suwanee, and they enjoy competing in sports.

  • Pastor Brendon has a Bachelor of Science in General Biology (with a minor in Chemistry) from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington; he received his Master of Divinity from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

  • The Presbyterian Church in America (https://pcanet.org/)

  • When Pastor Brendon was in seminary, his Preaching Professor said that, after visiting many churches in North America, the conclusion that he came to was that most churches in North America were preaching good advice and not good news.  He said, “Good advice doesn’t change lives; good news changes lives.”

CORE VALUES

Our

  1. THE BIBLE – The Bible is the only inerrant and infallible word of God and is the only rule of life and faith (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

  2. THE GOOD NEWS (THE GOSPEL) – It is only through the good news of God’s love, exemplified in Jesus Christ, that people’s hearts and lives are truly changed, leading them to follow Him (John 3:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

  3. COVENANT WORSHIP – Coming together for Sunday Worship as families and as a church is one of the most important and life-changing things you will do in your life (Exodus 20:8-11).

  4. TRANSPARENCY – The church’s ministry is a ministry of word and deed. We strive to excel in teaching the truth of God’s word but also in living out the truth of God’s word in our families, in the church, and in the world. (Matthew 5-7).

  5. BIBLICAL MARRIAGE & FAMILY – Marriage and family, established by God, serve as the foundational elements of society and the church, providing the best place for discipleship; healthy families lead to a healthy church (Genesis 1:28, 2:24)

  6. CHILDREN – Children are not a means to an end, but children are an end in themselves (Matthew 18:5-6).

  7. GENEROSITY – God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others; one of the greatest expressions of the gospel is giving generously (Genesis 12:2; 2 Corinthians 8:9-15).
